"I don't want Dad to play hockey anymore. He can play with us, at home." Jade sniffled.
Ruby just nodded again.
He set them both back down and kneeled down to their level. "I promise, he wants to be home with you guys everyday. Hockey is your dad's dream, though, and it won't be forever. He's doing all this so that one day, he can spend everyday with you guys."

A girl in every port. That is what Hayden had said. So that’s what Shane does. He’s got Jessica in Montreal, Lily in Boston, and he hooks up at least once a year on the road. Sure, Jessica is just a friend, and Lily isn’t even a girl, and the girls he meets in clubs and bars never get his phone number, but he’s trying. He just hasn’t met the right girl yet. Someone who can tolerate his lifestyle. Who doesn’t see him as just a friend. A girl who fits right.
He knows he’s not really trying, because he’s got Rozanov a few times a year and the sex is so great that everything else pales in comparison. But hooking up with Rozanov isn’t the same as having a girlfriend. He’s just delaying the inevitable.
Or, comphet is one helluva drug.

Hayden is always trying to set Shane up with a nice girl, but at least when JJ had been single, Hayden's efforts had been split. Now, JJ has got himself caught up in a whirlwind romance and married a girl, Sofia, in less than 6 months. Now both of them are trying to set Shane up with JJ's new sister-in-law, Iris. She doesn't want to date either, but surprisingly, they are actually perfect for each other.
Everything with Ilya is blown up anyway, after Shane left his house freaking out (tuna-meltdown), and isn't this exactly what Shane's been waiting for? The nice girl he's been waiting for?
Shane's teammates - everyone in his life, actually - are thrilled.
Except for Ilya Rosanov, who is consumed by jealousy.
