"Why look after me so? I am no more your friend than you mine."
Nepheli measured her words. If she pushed too far...ah, to Helphen with it. A frank glint took hold in her gaze. "Because you remind me of someone." She held her hands at her hips, planted her feet in the ground, like it could still the anxious jilt in her legs. "A younger girl, dafter, with all the world like to stand against her. She needed a friend, then. She never got one, and...I wish that she had."
It was a surprise her ears didn't burn, with the long look Gertrude held her with. Steeling herself, Nepheli let the truth lie out there between them. Gertrude thumbed the pommel of her blade sheathed at her hip. It seemed a curious little quirk of hers. She cast another mournful look down to the side room entrance. Then she looked back at Nepheli, hesitating.
"May I call you Miss Loux?"
"You may," Nepheli said, her cheeks burning faintly, "but I would prefer you call me Nepheli."
In which Melina makes an accord with Nepheli Loux, who then befriends the Tarnished that Melina was supposed to accompany to the Erdtree.

Summary
When you wake up next to him in the middle of the night with your head in your hands, you’re nothing more than his wife
Autumn has always signalled transformation. Change.
Not only because the foliage of the trees replaces their green with vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows as they literally turn a new leaf, but because the shifting weather draws the mind toward the cold months ahead and forces people to reevaluate the circumstances of their lives.
What are they willing to put up with? Are they really happy? And if not… what can they do to change that?
OR
Demetrius implied-threatens me not to date Maru, for fear that I’d make her give up her ambitions. So instead, I date his wife.
He never really cared about her anyway.Bookmarked by SharpSoul

Summary
Sophia keeps her world quiet to survive it. Jessie has spent her life fighting through one that refuses to be quiet at all. They shouldn’t fit together, yet their lives begin to shift in small, steady ways. Sophia learns what it feels like to be safe beside someone instead of afraid. Jessie learns what it feels like to be met with kindness instead of suspicion.
When their lives begin to overlap, the contrast between them slowly transforms into connection. Sophia teaches Jessie a gentler rhythm, a way of moving through the world that doesn’t require bracing for impact. Jessie becomes the first person who makes Sophia feel protected instead of overwhelmed. Together, they learn how fear softens, how strength can be quiet, and how something fragile can bloom even between two lives shaped by completely different storms.

Summary
Cooper never expected much from Pelican Town—just enough space to disappear, enough land to keep his hands busy, and enough silence to hold back everything he’s never been able to say out loud. The farm was meant to be a kind of ending, or at least a place where no one would ask about the years he spent behind bars or the reasons that sent him there.
But Emily is nothing like the quiet he craves. She is laughter in the breeze and music in the walls, a burst of color in a world that has long since dulled around the edges. Her presence is warmth he doesn’t think he deserves, and yet she offers it freely, without flinching from the weight he carries.
Cooper tries to believe that he can stay in the light she brings, that maybe there’s something left of him worth loving. But Pelican Town holds its own shadows, and not all of them are buried in the past. Some watch from windows. Some follow too closely. And when old wounds meet quiet obsession, even the gentlest places can turn dangerous.
