Summary
Sleep choses vessels to gain worshippers and spread their message and influence. But what make a person worthy to be Sleep's vessel? What does it take to fall under its influence and do its will?
This story follows a man who has been chosen by Sleep and join with the other vessels. The man will meet Vessel, II and III. A bond beyond human comprehension is forged between the four vessels. The man wonders if he truly has what it takes to be a true vessel for Sleep and the others while experiencing a myriad of new emotions with his fellow vessels. Really, he should be in the same little group as III with people fretting over the make of his 8-string and asking him about the finer points of drop A versus drop C tuning or where he bought his pants or something. But he didn’t mind being left out. Not anymore. He was used to being the newest, even if he wasn’t actually new anymore. Newest just meant there were fewer preconceptions about where the line was, and the people with VIP passes were usually very bad at spotting lines.
