Hypnos hears them whisper about how they would rather avoid talking to him altogether. Hypnos tried to grin and bear it. He tried to keep hope that one day his bonds with his family would be repaired. However, that hope dies with each passing century. When Zagreus starts to attempt to escape from the Underworld something in Hypnos snaps. Hypnos wants to escape too. He doesn't want to be lonely anymore. When Chaos offers to send him somewhere where he can start anew, he accepts. What he didn't know was that by accepting he would get sent to another world, have a mind flayer parasite shoved into his head, and suddenly find himself the leader of a bunch of people infected like him. Hypnos is in over his head, but with his merry band of weirdos by his side at least he isn't lonely anymore...

"Ah, you must be Megatronus, I've heard many things about you. Though most aren’t positive." He couldn't keep the distain out of his voice, he knew the things this mech had done, and Alpha Trion had done well to teach him not to fall into traps laid by mechs with a flashy smile.
But, annoyingly, Megatronus’s smile only widened.
"I'm honoured that mechs even of your class have heard of me, Great Thirteen."
Orion picked up on the cynical tone beneath the charm he used when calling him that, as if it was his fault for being born into fortune, and he didn't appreciate it.
"My name's Orion."
Megatronus paused, his smile softening into something genuine, to Orion's confusion. "Ah, my apologies, Orion." He said, testing the name on his glossa, "I didn't mean to offend you, they only refer to you as Thirteen in the news- you see."

They could still see. They could still see how their siblings still climbed, how they still fell and broke their fragile frames on the sharp spikes and rocks below. Useless motions now that the light was gone, only filling the floor with the bodies of thousands of dead newly born lives.

The others didn’t listen. They still climbed.
