Summary
“Honestly? I say lean into it.” Anathema leaned forward, twirling her straw around in her iced latte. "Who knows. Sometimes stuff is just weird or inexplicable. Ineffable! Like you said. If it really is that out of the ordinary, there's gotta be a reason, right?"
"Hey, maybe the two of you knew each other in a past life or something," Newt said blithely, his eyes once again glued to the page in front of him, red pen to paper, scratching down notes in his nigh illegible shorthand. Anthony had always wondered how his students managed to decipher it. He scoffed.
"Ha ha," he uttered dryly, reaching back into his messenger bag to finally pull out the stack of neglected exams. "Come on, Newt, I'm a scientist. You know I don't believe in any of that stuff."
Newt looked up from his work a final time, staring at Anthony in a manner that made him feel strangely exposed.
"Doesn't mean you can't be wrong, mate."

Summary
Klavier darts his gaze away, eyes fixing on the dog. Maybe Edgeworth should take the dog. “The tea is excellent,” he comments, right as Edgeworth says—
“I’m not taking the dog.”
What? Okay, Edgeworth is definitely a mindreader.
“I-I thought of no such thing,” Klavier stutters, feeling chastised by Edgeworth’s firm refusal.
Edgeworth only looks at Klavier as if to say, yeah right.

(In the fallout of Kristoph's guilty verdict, a whole lot gets dumped in Klavier's lap. And if the bitterness and betrayal weren't enough, now Klavier has one more thing to take care of. Enter: Kristoph's dog. Or well, Klavier's dog, now. Klavier/Apollo if you squint.)

"Dunno man, sounds like a cold..."
"No, it’s not. And we are too broke for cold medicine."
"I think it’s very inspiring that you believe pure denial can conquer the common cold. I’ll take a leaf out of your book when I inevitably catch it. "
"Idiots can’t catch colds."When Lu Guang comes down with pneumonia, the fever dreams have him convinced he's drowning, and Cheng Xiaoshi would do anything to make him feel better.
