Lu Guang had never been one for photography. He only noticed the photo studio when out on a midday walk, trying to clear his head.
It was a cozy-looking place; a little run-down with ivy creeping up the walls and partially obscuring the sign over the doorway. It stood out, not matching the rest of the commercial buildings around it.
Lu Guang slowed, then stopped. Then, without thinking much about it, approached the door and opened it.
What he finds inside is something he never would’ve expected.

“Lu Guang,” Cheng Xiaoshi sighs, in utter bliss, “have I ever told you that you’re the best in the world? How could I ever repay you? Tell me right now because I’ll do it, I swear.”
Even from this distance, Cheng Xiaoshi can make out the hint of a smile tugging at the corners of Lu Guang’s mouth.
“Don’t sound too happy yet,” Lu Guang hums.
“How could I not—” Cheng Xiaoshi starts, right before Lu Guang’s skilful thumbs sweep gently upwards, find a divot in his skin, and dig in like hot coals. “OWWW—LU GUANG—ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME BEFORE WE GRADUATE—”

“What’s the purpose of this experiment?”
“Mm…” Cheng Xiaoshi hummed, fixing his gaze on their hands clasped loosely together. “I dunno.”
Cheng Xiaoshi wonders if Lu Guang likes holding his hand, and decides to put it to the test.

“Sleeping on the job, Lu Guang?”
Cheng Xiaoshi sounded amused rather than annoyed, but Lu Guang didn’t respond. He stirred at Cheng Xiaoshi’s voice, aware that he should probably get up, but he couldn’t seem to find it in him.
“Lu Guang?” Cheng Xiaoshi sounded concerned now. He gently brushed Lu Guang’s hair aside to put his hand on his forehead.
“You’re burning up,” Cheng Xiaoshi said.
“No I’m not,” Lu Guang’s voice came out raspy. “It’s just hot in here.”
After getting back from the hospital, Lu Guang just can't get himself to stop working. There's way too much to do after being away. But there's only so far he can push himself before taking a break isn't exactly optional...
