Everything in life starts with decisions, some well-thought-out, planned, and dreamed of, others unconscious, impulsive, and not yours to make. Life is an intricate mess of unimportant and consequential things. It's the natural flow of an ecosystem; it's the hope it'll persevere against all odds, that one day you'll do enough. It's the train in your dreams that has left the station, yet you still run, chasing doors you cannot see and leaving behind the ones you crossed.
Sometimes, life was in the decisions you couldn't possibly make, words you couldn't say, was in knowing there's no fairness, and no way but forward.
And well…

For it would be blood one day, blood shed in Elphaba's name, her honour, and the empty grave in a country they couldn’t visit, wouldn’t even mention as Galinda clung on to a hope he wished he shared, as she faded away before her faith did.
Kissing away the remnants of her pain until only Galinda was left, her taste, sweet. Still theirs, even now.
“I love you.”
Her answer wasn’t much more than a broken moan.
