Summary
They stay that way for a long time, Catra’s face tucked into Adora’s shoulder, Adora gently cradling Catra’s head. Adora is careful not to hug Catra too hard or make her feel restrained, anticipating the moment that Catra will start to pull away — but Catra doesn’t. She hangs on so tightly it hurts, her claws digging through Adora’s jacket and into her back, latching into her like she did when she was a kitten and didn’t know how much her claws could hurt. Adora tries not to wince, tries not to move a single muscle, worried that if she does the spell will break and Catra will struggle away, appalled at having shown weakness.
But Catra doesn’t let go. And so neither does Adora.

The Valyrian Freehold rules over the near breath of Essos, its Dragon riders leading armies ever eastward across the bone mountains in never ending wars with the Ibbenese, the Jogos Nhai, and even as far as the Golden Empire of Yi Ti, all for the greatest treasures of the world. Yet for a second son of a small discraced family such as the Targaryans, there is still plenty of coin to be made in Westeros, where petty kings and lords squabble in their wars of succession, and there are no dragons in the skies but Daemon’s, his wife Aemma’s, and their daughter Rhaenyra’s.
Now, following the death of the last Gardener King, the Reach has been plunged into civil war, and fresh contracts are abound, with Rhaenyra’s father sending her to scout out the conflict by taking a contract with the neutral Lord Peake, or at least he was neutral before a Hightower army parked itself outside Starpike’s walls, trapping her and her men inside.

Rhaenyra is a mercenary who's captured by the Hightowers, and Alicent is fascinated by her... for political reasons only, of course.
