    Summary

After moving into their new home, Shane falls in love with a ficus—and Ilya, jealous of the attention it gets, declares war. Despite increasingly ridiculous attempts to kill it, the plant only thrives, and Ilya finds himself losing to a houseplant… and completely whipped for his husband.

    Summary

Ilya started the list when he was seven years old. Then, it was a single sheet of lined paper, the header Потрясающие вещи written in blue marker. Potryasayushchiye veshchi. Brilliant things. Wonderful things, amazing things.

The first few entries were easy. Simple.

    #1: Пломбир. [Ice cream.]
    #2: Собаки. [Dogs.]
#3: Катание на коньках. [Ice skating.]
#4: Жёлтый цвет. [The color yellow.]
#5: Библиотекарь в школе. [The librarian at school.]

Ilya makes a list for his mother, a list of everything in the world that is brilliant. Of course, he didn't know then how it would continue to change his life more than twenty years later.

Post-cottage, Shane and Ilya quickly discover that hiding sucks, so they launch their friendship via a series of chaotic Instagram Lives. It predictably spirals out of control.

    Summary

Shane doesn't know how long they sit there in silence.

He isn't counting seconds or minutes as the time passes by, quiet and heavy in the dim light of the hotel room. Instead, he counts Ilya's breaths—the ones that tremble and shake against the skin of Shane's neck, the ones that are buried in the fabric of Shane's shirt, the ones that become steadier the longer that Shane holds him as tight as he can.

Shane Hollander is the youngest Commander in ISS history; straight-backed, closeted, and so tightly on his own leash that seven months in orbit with Ilya Rozanov have not produced a single crack in his composure.

Ilya Rozanov is the Russian cosmonaut who should have had his job, won’t stop bouncing a tennis ball off the walls, and is still looking for a fissure. Thankfully, a solar storm finds it for him.

or: Near-death, zero gravity, and the wrong man’s hands in exactly the right places.

Summary: Shane Hollander is the youngest Commander in ISS history; straight-backed, closeted, and so tightly on his own leash that seven months in orbit with Ilya Rozanov have not produced a single crack in his composure.

Ilya Rozanov is the Russian cosmonaut who should have had his job, won’t stop bouncing a tennis ball off the walls, and is still looking for a fissure. Thankfully, a solar storm finds it for him.

    A Cosmonaut!Ilya x Astronaut!Shane AU 🚀

He photographed ambiguously enough to be everyone’s projection. Shane knew he was a parallax error in human form, his position shifting depending on where you stood to look at him, never resolving into a fixed point, because the observers couldn’t agree on the angle and he had long since stopped correcting them: not quite Asian, not quite white, a Rorschach test in a flight suit. Canada’s blankest canvas. The face they could project onto without having to see, the way you could stare at the night sky and find whatever constellation you’d already decided to look for.

JUST THE FIC I NEEDED. AUSTRONAUT AU!!! In the top three of the fics I read in 2026.

The stars did not applaud. The stars did not notice. But they were there, all of them, the full obscene catalog, and Shane looked at them and for the first time in his life did not feel small. He felt held. As if the dark itself had arms, and one of them was Rozanov’s, and the rest were all the distance he’d ever put between himself and wanting, collapsing now to nothing.
