The honking stops. The Range Rover's window comes down.
"Are you leaving the space or not." The woman says it flat, and bored.
Carol puts her own window down. Slowly, for the fuck of it.
“No, lady. I'm not leaving. I’m parked. This is a parking space, and I have parked a car in it. Like a human being is allowed to. Your response to that was to put your hand flat on a horn for what, an hour? What the fuck is wrong with you?”

“Who are you?” Zosia asked, and Carol was surprised by how much it hurt to be asked that. “Why do you want to meet with me so badly?”
It would seem that Zosia remembered nothing. She and Manousos had wondered about that, if the regular, uninfected human brain was capable of processing the kind of memories the virus would create, or if it would revert to the safety of amnesia.
“Well, I had to see if this would work on someone,” Carol answered, “and I don’t really have anyone else.”

After only three months, they've done it: Manousos and Carol have found a way to cure the virus, or at least to dissolve that "psychic glue" that's binding everyone together and making them all smiley and accommodating all the time. Now they just have to test it.
And who better to try it out on than Carol's ex? Making Zosia an unwilling participant in their heroic science experiment seems like the best option, but maybe our heroes didn't think this one all the way through.

Zosia has been unplurbed, but she doesn't remember anything that happened while she was part of the hive mind. She is also so different from the joined Zosia that Carol is not sure what she wants anymore.
