"Hm, nothing, really," Hikaru murmured as she leaned down, pressing their foreheads together in quiet affection, "Just come home safe, okay?"
Inori could smell the coffee in Hikaru's soft breath; familiar and welcoming as all the mornings they spent together flooded in her mind. She almost wanted to pull Hikaru back to bed at this point.
"Okay," Inori replied and was faced with Hikaru's warm gaze and tender smile. Who knew that Kamisaki Hikaru could sport such an expression like that?

“I know and it’s okay,” the doctor mumbled, squeezing his hand gently. “We have time.”
When the other said ‘time’, Xie Lian couldn’t help but feel a pang of pain in his heart. While he certainly had time, he couldn’t say the same thing about Hua Cheng.
He was snapped out of his thoughts when the doctor squeezed his hand again.
“Don’t,” Hua Cheng said, almost like he was silently pleading. “Don’t think about it, gege.”
Xie Lian’s smile faltered, biting down on his lip before slowly nodding, “I’m sorry.”
