Ilya caught Scott’s eye and gave a microscopic shake of his head.
“It’ll be okay,” Ilya’s eyes said, “he’s confused, but he’ll be okay.”
Scott nodded, accepting the logic. Ilya knew Shane’s patterns better than anyone. If Ilya was sure that all Shane needed was a bit of space, Scott would give it. Climbing into bed beside Kip, Scott wrapped an arm around his own husband, even though his eyes remained fixed on the rigid line of Shane’s back in the dark.
He fell asleep with a nagging sense of unease, wondering if he had simply misread Shane’s exhaustion signals.

Summary
Ilya’s hand wraps around his bare wrist and squeezes. Shane barely stops himself from collapsing to his knees.
The pressure lights up every receptor of his touch-starved nervous system, wrenching a small, pained noise from the back of his throat. Every muted sensation comes flooding back so intensely that it almost hurts. He needs Ilya to hold him down until there’s nothing inside him but quiet. He wants to sink into him and disappear.
It takes Shane an entire beat to remember where they are. Fighting against the fog in his mind, he manages to drag his gaze up to meet Ilya’s.
There’s a slow-dawning horror and understanding on Ilya’s face.

Eddie was looking forward to seeing him this morning, his alpha needs to have physical eyes on Buck to settle and has felt on edge all morning. Eddie reasoned with himself it's just the high stress call yesterday coupled with how Buck took it all but once he sees him today, he is sure would settle.
Eddie is heading back to his car when he gets a call from Bobby. “Hey Cap, what's up?”
“Eddie, have you heard from Buck? Athena asked him to check in this morning and we haven't heard anything. Eddie, He's not picking up the phone.” Bobby's panic is clear and it sets Eddie and his alpha on edge.

Buck is deeply affected by the loss of Tommy, who died during a training flight. About eight weeks later, the 118 is called to the scene of a horrible accident involving a prisoner transport and SWAT officers. Sergeant Donovan Rocker is among the injured. Hen and Eddie are stunned to find that Rocker bears a striking resemblance to Tommy as they fight for his life on the way to the ER. They also worry about Buck, who is still blaming himself for Tommy's death.
Despite his and everyone else's concern, Buck frequently visits Rocker and develops a bond with him. Their friendship deepens when Rocker learns he may be confined to a wheelchair. Buck, who has faced a similar situation, takes it upon himself to help the SWAT leader through this challenging time. Although Rocker is initially hesitant, he starts to feel a connection with Buck that he can't explain. And Eddie? He keeps a watchful eye on Buck. After all, he fears that his friend has gotten himself into a mess because he can't come to terms with Tommy's death. COMPLETED
