Summary
After Chat Noir leaves his miraculous behind during Kuro Neko, Ladybug is devastated that she pushed her partner away enough for him to quit. Feeling unworthy of being a hero without him, Marinette gives the earrings permanently to Alya. The 'new' hero, Cat Walker, has no knowledge of this exchange taking place. While Marinette and Adrien struggle with the loss of their partnership due to their lack of communication, Alya is stuck in the middle, growing more and more frustrated with everything.

Marinette did not keep her promise. She meant to, really, but she transformed as soon as she got far enough away from the restaurant and swung to their spot. She didn’t even stop home! (She did manage to get another bottle of wine, though.) Sure, she almost swung into a few buildings, and she did slip off a roof at one point. But she made it, and her chaton wasn’t even there yet. She was early.
