Summary
Sanguinius was drunk. It was a... fascinating experience. Russ had made sure all three of them - himself, Sanguinius, and Perturabo - had consumed enough alcohol to “experience what they had been missing”.
Sanguinius was pretty sure it was an excuse to try and undercut both his and Perturabo’s self-control, but whatever. They’d both been cajoled into it, and now Sanguinius was trying to find his way back to his room, wherever that was on this unfamiliar world in this unfamiliar building.
(Or, Sanguinius walks in on a private moment and proceeds to be Weird about it)

Summary
Kharne might be the slightest bit starstruck by his first Compliance with a Primarch, even if it isn't his own. He might even be a little bit envious of the Fourth and their almost out-of-character joy at having Perturabo around. It's not exactly fine, but he can handle it.
And then Perturabo calls him to the Command Center for a talk about Kharne and the War Hounds' staring habit.
(Chapter 1 could be read as platonic as the Warhammer novels are but that is not the intent.)

Summary
Horus wouldn’t have even noticed it if he hadn’t walked in on Perturabo exchanging his studs. Before that point, Horus hadn’t even been aware that Perturabo had pierced ears.

Summary
It was not uncommon for Magnus to simply decide he was going to join Perturabo on a compliance without saying anything. It was even more common for Magnus to show up for seemingly no reason other than to spend time with Perturabo.
Unfortunately, it was also about as likely for Magnus to show up with the intent of “trying something” with Perturabo’s help.
Perturabo was getting the distinct impression that this was one of those times.
(Or, Magnus tries to move forward with an experiment without controlling all the variables)
