Shouta and Hizashi have been arguing nonstop for days now. It seems like recently they argue either everyday or every other day. It’s exhausting. Constant yelling, angry gestures, passive aggression, and one or the other sleeping on the couch. It’s starting to wear Shouta down— Hizashi too. They’re tired of yelling and fighting but nonetheless the fights keep breaking out.
“Then fucking divorce me if you’re so unhappy with me, Hizashi,”

The apartment is empty when he arrives. Fully furnished, made for a rich couple as opposed to a middle-class family such as themselves, but with skillsets like theirs, such accommodations aren’t impossible. He flicks on the lamp, not the overhead lights, and sits on the edge of the bed with his back to the window. He keeps his ears open, muscles tense, never fully able to relax when his back - his entire being - is so vulnerable.
He doesn't hear her come in.
