“Perhaps an ex-girlfriend,” Will says, unsure why the thought makes him feel flat and remote.
“That would be incredibly inappropriate.”
“A friend then. Someone you can explain the problem to. You could take-”
“You,” Hannibal interjects.
The words belly-flop into silence. Will’s mouth opens, and then closes, and then opens again.When Franklyn's advances of friendship become too much for even Hannibal to politely ignore, he enlists Will's help.
Written for the Accidental Sex challenge- the prompt was #AccidentalSex14: “Playing a prank on our friends to make them think we’re a couple and now we’re in bed together” sex.

Will's eyes flickered over Hannibal’s suit – the tan plaid, three buttons on the jacket (currently undone), matching waistcoat, cream shirt with English spread collar that was so spread it was virtually a cut away, and a paisley tie with a double Windsor knot. Will Graham took all this in with a quick, professional eye, and then looked back down at his ledger.
“No,” he said simply.
Hannibal, who had been coming forward, halted abruptly.
“I beg your pardon?” he asked. Will Graham was rude, and that was such a disappointment after all the effort he’d gone to for this referral.
“No, I will not take you on as a client. Sorry to waste your time,” Mr Graham said, not sounding very sorry at all.
“May I ask why?” Hannibal said stiffly.
“Because I’m not going to fuck around with all of that, whatever it is,” he replied, waving a hand at Hannibal’s suit. “I don’t know what that is, but I’m not having a bar of it.”

Summary
The danger of having a detective for a flatmate is that he's liable to notice *everything.* Which is why John is less than thrilled when Sherlock comes across him browsing a sex toy shop. As it turns out, Sherlock is indeed able to deduce quite a bit about John's sex life based on what toys he was looking at - so Sherlock buys all the important ones. If John doesn't take that as an overture, he's dimmer than Sherlock thought.
