Summary
In one timeline, the first demon would be Muzan Kibutsuji, who feasted on human flesh and feared the burning rays of the sun. All demons where created from this monster, and had the same afflictions.
This is not that story.
In a different world, it is not a shady doctor in Muzan's employ who first uses the blue spider lily in medicine. Instead, it is 357 years before that, as a worried charcoal burner who only wished to provide some comfort to his sick wife.
And so, in the place of only demons, is instead the yokai clans.But while one role changes, the other role remains the same.

Summary

After being left to die by his father, eleven year old Jaune Arc wakes up to find himself on a hospital bed on an island which doesn't exist on any of the kingdom's maps, inhabited by humans, faunus, and creatures he hasn't even heard of before. On top of that he now has an awakened aura and a new power called 'umbra' according to one of the islanders. He doesn't know why he's here or what this place is but one things for sure.
Between learning to fight, finding his semblance, surviving the other children's antics and learning about a shadow war between two immortals, making it to Beacon academy with his sanity intact isn't going to be easy.
