"Huh?" Victoria replied, finally looking at her again. She had this way of scanning Cassie's face, starting with her bangs, down to her eyes, lips, eyes again and then back to lips before looking away. Cassie smiled.
"I'm offering you a night free of your mom. You can stay with me, I'm a few blocks away" she explained, nudging her arm.
