Red takes a few seconds to answer, fidgeting with the strings of her hoodie before shrugging. “For as long as I can remember, yeah. It’s funny, y’know? I keep reading so many books about my Kingdom and everything feels like someplace else… Like somewhere I’ve never been to.”
“Doesn’t sound so funny…” Chloe turns to look at Red, who smiles sadly.
“I guess it doesn’t.” Clearing her throat, she tries to change the subject.

Red had never had a real Christmas to speak of. The holiday's simply meant long months where the clouds dragged on the horizon. Wonderlandians celebrated in their own cooky way, trying to enjoy the simple pleasures they could, but because Red's mother disapproved of anything Holiday’s related, it caused a quick and brutal end to the concept all together.
It was never something to look forward to.
