Summary
There were many things that could lead to the death of a flower. Its bloom could be plucked from the stem for a moment of fleeting beauty to be admired, before it wilted away in the hands that claimed it. It could wither in the darkness, straining for a sun that never shone upon it. The soil could be barren of water or nutrients, leading to a fierce competition of tangling roots that only served to choke the flowers fighting for their lifeblood.
Flins thinks that Illuga is a lot like a flower.

Summary
The Wild Hunt is supposed to be dying down. It lulls everyone into a sense of false security, including Illuga. One ambush is enough to do him in when the Wild Hunt has never gotten him before. One misstep, one wrong attack, it's all enough to send Illuga into a new world of agony.

"I'm just as impatient as you are," his voice almost a whisper, "so please allow me to tell you that properly."
"You can tell me right now, Master Illuga."
Their steps echoed throughout the empty plaza.
"It feels weird to say it right now."
"You can say it at any time, Master Illuga. It will not make me uncomfortable."
They both climbed the short flight of stairs up to Illuga's home.
"It's still a little hard to get out."
"That's okay, I can wait for as long as you need. I don't want to do anything you don't agree to."
They stopped mid-way while walking across the bridge to his house.
"I love you, Flins."
(OR: Flins goes to get Illuga to join him on an urgent mission, realize they both have feelings for eachother, then speedrun to bang)

Summary
“I—” Flins crossed the room in a few quick strides and leaned over the chair, his breath on Illuga’s face. For a second Illuga was frozen. Then Flins began to pull away. Oh. Oh he would not get away with this.
Illuga grabbed his shirt collar and yanked Flins into a kiss.Illuga ends up at Final Night Cemetery with a broken ankle after a solo scouting mission goes wrong. Rattled from his latest brush with death, Illuga finds himself letting Flins take care of his injuries…and confessing his love for the fae.
Perhaps he should have expected the unexpected when it comes to Flins. But Illuga’s life—and fate—are suddenly put on a path he never could have anticipated.
