After the door to his examination room closed, Buck released a breath he hadn't realized he was holding. It was silent. He sat with his hands on his knees, his gaze on the vinyl tile floor. His brain replayed the past hour, everything Janise and Paige told him. One thought stuck out.
I'm getting an insulin pump.
A wide grin split his pink lips apart, a sense of pure giddiness rising from his stomach. His hands bunched into fists and he pumped them in the air, his feet kicking up, too. "Yes, yes, yes," Buck celebrated in between his honest-to-God giggles. Then, his eyes went wide as he remembered why he asked Janise and Paige to step out.
