Summary
Megumi Fushiguro knows what it means to be unwanted.
He knows what it means to be kept, neglected, desired only when convenient, and left alone when his body aches too badly to bear it. He knows better than to walk into a club in heat, sweet with honey and strawberry cream, surrounded by alphas who can smell how desperate he is.
But loneliness has teeth too.
Hiro finds him there.
Dangerous, massive, smoke and vetiver wrapped in alpha hunger, Hiro should be one more mistake Megumi cannot afford. Instead, he is the first alpha who holds him like something worth protecting. For three days, Megumi lets himself believe in warmth, safety, praise, and hands that do not hurt.
Then he goes home.
He tells himself Hiro will forget him. That alphas always do. That wanting more is stupid when omegas like him are only ever borrowed, used, or discarded.
But Hiro does not forget.

Muzan flinched when Yoriichi’s calloused hand brushed over a scar on his back, one of the scars that his blade had left when he’d beaten Muzan to within an inch of his life.
Blinding red slashes. Hot searing flashes. That day in the forest. His regeneration wasn’t working. A phantom pain in his lost limbs. That blood red blade. Those emotionless eyes. Those Hanafuda earrings.
Sobs and sniffles racked his body as he shrunk in on himself, curling into a ball with the blankets around him. It was pathetic, how he was acting, but he’d never been more terrified in his life. Now, he was vulnerable, still injured and weakened from his and Yoriichi’s last fight, and he was entirely at Yoriichi’s mercy.
Or, Yoriichi finds Muzan in a severely weakened, pathetic state, except he doesn’t know it’s Muzan. How will he react once the truth comes out?
