Summary
“This operation requires a rather lengthy stay at the residence I've arranged — three months or more. Closely acquainting ourselves with the target is expected,” he pauses, blinking excessively for a moment, as if trying to compose himself. “So, my goal is to find someone who’s middle aged, unmarried, familiar with undercover work, and ready to disappear from the world for several months with no questions from their employer or their family.”
He goes into great detail about the target, about the town and the people living there; Greg tries his hardest to listen carefully, but his thoughts keep drifting in a dangerous direction as the gravity of the situation at hand finally dawns on him. Oh god, they’re going to be married.
Or; Mycroft and Greg go undercover as a married couple and realise that that's what they've wanted all along: a future together.

Summary
Greg learned far too young that you should never make homes out of people.
When you have as much baggage as he does - boxes upon boxes of carefully wrapped trauma with fragile stickers taped to the sides - no one ever wants to help you unpack.

Summary
Another "first time." So many ways to imagine happening what has never been shown but also never ruled out.
This one came from thinking how much we like Lestrade cocky and sexy and in control--and how, in some ways, that seemed potentially unlikely for a man presumed to have been closeted gay or bi, married, trying to sort things out in middle-age after a rough divorce. So in this one Mycroft's taking the lead, if wracked with his own uncertainties.
This has very little explicit in it... Character work, dialog, and tentative first moves, no more.
I considered calling it "Mycroft's Song," but chose the quote from "Kathy's Song" instead. I like it that way.

Summary
Or: A story about how two pipers can get on in one tavern.
Sometimes, you have to do something for yourself. Greg decides to sign up for the London's Gay Men's Chorus in a flash of insight that he hasn't really had gay friends since college and then promptly forgets about it again. Until he gets a call about being at the top of the waiting list. Of course he's still interested.
