“—Okay, you know I’m starting to think—”
“What do you want?” There must be something. Ultimately, Vox has always been laughably easy. Alastor entertains throwing a stick wayward and seeing if that’s anything. He’d throw a rib, but, ha! Ha. The shadow doesn’t have any.
There’s a long expanse of silence that makes Alastor believe he’s hallucinated the entire third party after all, until:
“We need to get ya’ institutionalized, old man?” There is a pair of legs in front of him, standing at the shadows head. A solid position to crush its head under a foot. When Alastor looks up, Vox is looking down at him and his shadow, seemingly torn between where to focus. He looks notably disturbed.
“The fuck is wrong with you?” There’s a genuine quality to Vox’s tone. His eyes are wide.
Alastor seriously does not have time to explain.
Or, The one where Alastor kills his shadow.

“I ain’t — One more hand, and I coulda won it all back.” Even as he said it, he knew it wasn’t true. A thousand hands couldn’t have dragged him out of the grave he’d dug. That didn’t stop the itch in his fingers to be dealt another.
“I’m sure you could have,” said Alastor, his bright tone buzzing with condescension. “But you didn’t. And now you have a choice to make.”

Summary
The 48 are why I originally joined Ao3: 48 files I had in my documents of fanfics that I wrote and kept for fun, purely for myself, now posted in the hope other people will have fun too. I've long since finished those 48, but the idea remains.
The Hazbin Hotel series is that more than anything. I'm having so much fun with a series not yet finished and a character not yet understood. We'll see if any of them remain acceptable after the next season starts.

The inescapable heat death of the universe was, to no one's surprise, not on the forefront of Vox’s mind on the 2nd of December 1954, nor were ovens or how to convert Celsius into Fahrenheit. No, Vox wouldn’t be thinking of any of those for quite a while. The reason this particular date stuck with him was entirely unrelated to ovens and temperature units (he’d only recall those much later when checking the internal thermometer he had built only a few months ago to regulate his new body better), though perhaps closer to universal death than expected, and revolved instead around one elusive radio host and overlord.
Or: Alastor starts a new habit and it drives Vox insane

Summary
As the host of the hotel Alastor was expected to know how to attend to guest's needs, what he never expected was that those needs required him to learn how to use a silly picture book with images that moved. Vaggie called it a tablet and she was the one that forced him to learn how to use it.
Who would have guessed that this little thing could be so entertaining?
Vox, on the other hand, believes that this is the perfect opportunity for him to step up his surveillance game.
Or: Alastor becomes an iPad kid and Vox is a freaky stalker that is also a hacker.

Niffty waved her own gun around, still so happy to be here. “It’s a family meeting!”
The static died out immediately. Mischievous shadows retreated, letting in the bright red from both the sky and the dozens of neon lights surrounding them—as well as the fire from the nearby explosion.
Alastor shuddered, hunching away as much as he could. "Just shoot me.”
Or, a story of how each member of the Radio Trio deal with their own complicated feelings about their friendship with each other—except Alastor who'd rather lock up his feelings and throw away the key. And yes, they will get guns.

“Yeah, so… do ya have, like, a mating season?” Angel Dust cuts in with a purr, sticking his head through the door suddenly, “I heard deer do that and I gotta say, I approve.”
Alastor simply gives a short laugh, and pushes him out with an inky tendril.
