Or, Dream is a prince months away from taking the throne, and George is the assassin sent to gain his trust and stab him in the back.

“I’m afraid this life might just consume me, Sapnap.” He lets out a shaky breath, his eyes stinging and his throat closing with emotion. “I’m afraid I’ll become a lifeless carcass for others stronger than me to try and pick apart piece by piece; that in order to live up to it I’ll lose myself, just like father did. I feel… trapped, like a bird in a golden cage, and I fear I’ll never learn to fly.”
“And what would that be like?” Sapnap interrupts, only for a second. “Flying. Breaking out of your cage.”
Dream sighs, both tired and awestruck at the mere concept of what Sapnap insinuates. “Something… Something beyond this. Beyond kingly duties and expectations, beyond having to be proper every moment of the day, acting like one is untouchable, perfect. More than being frowned at if you don’t meet the requirements. There’s got to be more, Sapnap, than just the same walls and the same balls and the same scornful, stuffy people, more than a lethargic, lackluster routine. There’s got to be more.”

Or; Dream finds himself trapped in his life as heir, and Sapnap grants him the opportunity to see something more, before his time is up. But, in the end, will he be able to let go of what he finds?
