Fourteen-year-old Hazel Laurie has spent a year studying magic at the Tower of Fate under the Nelsons’ guidance. Though she’s been cleared for practical fieldwork and is on track to becoming a respected sorceress, she remains haunted by the memory of her brutal, Trigon-orchestrated fight with her sister.
When Hazel discovers an opportunity to build the family she’s been denied, she jumps headfirst into stupid—and lethal—situations to make it happen, repeatedly forcing said sister to break their unspoken agreement to just be dead to each other.
On top of the familial drama, Hazel has to navigate the mortification of her first crush, the complexities of working with other magic users, and the irritation inflicted upon her by a certain overstepping acrobat whose default settings seem to fluctuate exclusively between “mildly annoying” and “outright infuriating”.

Summary

At the same time, his parents’ trips are increasing in length, and Tim is handling it like a champ! Who needs parental supervision? Not him! Although, a little company might be nice…
Meanwhile, Jason is still half convinced that his adoption is an elaborate human trafficking scheme, but this Robin gig is pretty cool. And his new school may be full of rich jerks, but the neighbor kid isn’t too bad. Having an adult trying to take care of him is a bit of an adjustment, but one he might just be able to get used to.
