Summary
Shortly after Mizuki escapes from prison, Iruka vanishes from his apartment, and Kakashi is assigned to lead a search team that brings the missing sensei home. After returning to Konoha, Iruka is placed under a protective watch while he recovers— one that Kakashi has no business volunteering for, hardly knowing the sensei, and being far above the skill level necessary to guard someone from a single escaped convict.
Then again, Kakashi’s never been particularly predictable.

A mission captain who doesn’t seem particularly happy to be working with him again.

In other words, if the expecting mother to be was a shinobi, the Hokage could not legally assign her any out of village missions and in fact was required to offer immediate paid leave until the child was born to ensure the continuation of said clan. Now obviously any pregnant kunoichi was banned from field work after the first trimester but for clan heads it started immediately.
The reason this was quite so important one might ask? The answer was simple. Because from the moment Kakashi had entered his office he had realized something.
They’re both pregnant.
