Summary
The Fifth Blight was beaten back by the heroes of Ferelden - King Alistair Therin, Warden Carys Mahariel, and Warden Martin of Highever. With the breaking of the Blight came the breaking of the fellowship - and some who survived wish they hadn't. Martin, warden no longer, finds himself exiled to Kirkwall.
Resigned to a fate of obscurity, Martin somehow finds unexpected notoriety in his exile... through a certain woman named Hawke.
This is a novelization of Dragon Age II. Expect moderate AU with extrapolation, clarification and some addition to both the story and lore of Dragon Age II in order to better tell its tale. Changes to the deep lore are minimal, but expect most events to play out differently than they did in game. Martin's origin is unique from any in Origins.
Credit to FenxShiral and Project Elvhen for the occasional reference for elvish.

Summary
Solas has told her to harden her heart, fold the pain inside it like the metal of a blade, and use it against Corypheus. In the very moment, Elanna had wondered if he knew who he was talking to. A heart should not be a weapon. In this, she is the wiser. Hers is broken like a gashed fist, sparking.

Summary
Fenris, captain of Starkhaven’s White Guard and the dearest friend of that country’s prince, has arrived in the kingdom of Kirkwall with a retinue of noble-born guards and a carriage brimming with lavish gifts. How else to win over the hearts of a suspicious mountain people who would rather break teeth on stone than accept the prince of Starkhaven stealing away their heir princess?
But stone is all they have in their kitchens lately, and gravel in their quarries and ice in their bitter rivers, and Starkhaven sits abreast the richest lea and moorland south of the Minanter.
And Sebastian Vael, the young prince of that country, needs a wife.
