Jaskier is doing just fine on his own, thank you, but he notices that his crowd of admirers is thinner than usual. He investigates to find a rather colorful fortune teller reading cards for patrons.
They hit it off.

Summary
Falsely accused of conducting espionage against the Dynasty on the orders of Trent Ikithon, Caleb is imprisoned in the Dungeon of Penance. The evidence against him is compelling, and it quickly becomes apparent that the distinction between "active scourger" and "almost scourger" will not be enough to save him. Caleb can only endure.
Caught between duty and friendship, Essek can do nothing to prevent Caleb from being tortured for information that he may not even possess. Essek can only watch, and hope that he has an opportunity to ease at least some of his friend's suffering.

But then, each moment seems an insurmountable task--avoid panic, take care of one another, manage their worsening symptoms, figure out who or what may have caused it, and stay alive long enough for medicine to be created.
There is something all too familiar about being locked in a Soltryce tower, trusting people who can't be trusted, and hoping death won't find you before morning.

So, when a goblin offers him a warm and dry place to stay the night in exchange for a button he doesn't quite remember finding, he takes her up on it.
He didn't expect to find something worth staying for.
Modern AU but with magic; probably gonna be a series of oneshots.

Molly stands on the Glory Run Road looking like he did the day he died, coat and all. The sky is gray and melancholy. There’s only enough snow to make the world look dingy and devoid of true color. This is a place of death, cold and lifeless and miserable.
This is a crossroads that was never meant to be one. The road forks in a way that it didn’t when he was here last. He knows now that one of those paths is lost to him. The other leads to whatever comes next- eternal damnation or the Moonweaver’s pity. He cannot say for certain which it will be. He is not certain he is enough to be able to make that sort of choice for himself or if he will be bound to Lucien forever.
