Evelyn Trevelyan looked through the flames at the approaching, unnaturally large, figure. The pain ricocheting through her body was nothing in comparison to the terror that froze her limbs. From a distance, he had seemed so small but mere feet in front of her, she felt entirely dwarfed by the evil Magister. He was deformed – twisted by red lyrium – and it only contributed to his unsettling visage. Evvy pushed herself up from the ground, wincing as she did so, and ignored the crippling pain in her ribs. She needed to focus on this situation; on distracting this monster long enough for the survivors of Haven to make it through the mountains; on surviving herself. Focus.

This is a sequel to the story "The Soul has Bandaged Moments." Same capable (and slightly odd) Inquisitor, same stuffy (and extremely sexy) Commander.
But now it falls to Evelyn to make decisions about the future: both the Inquisition's, and her own. Evelyn seeks to examine the past of the Inquisition in order to not repeat its mistakes, but she and her companions must also deal with their own histories before they can move forward.
Still a story about a couple of adults trying to make it work, despite their pasts. Still told in the Inquisition's own words through letters and journal entries. Still got humor, sex, friendship, and romance. Pace will be different since I'm going off-canon (with plenty of DLC-lore-related backup), but we'll see how it goes. Whee!
