Eddie’s head spun. “Sent home? But the school didn’t…” He shook his head, realising exactly what had happened with the school. He’d deal with it later. “Why didn’t you call me?”
His mother spread her hands. “You were working, Eddie, we know how important days like today are for you,” she said.
It was incredible how she could sound perfectly reasonable and yet so very patronising at the same time.

While in Texas Chris develops appendicitis, and Eddie gets him to the hospital eight hours later than he could have because his parents decided, once again, that they knew what was best.

Summary
Ilya’s hand wraps around his bare wrist and squeezes. Shane barely stops himself from collapsing to his knees.
The pressure lights up every receptor of his touch-starved nervous system, wrenching a small, pained noise from the back of his throat. Every muted sensation comes flooding back so intensely that it almost hurts. He needs Ilya to hold him down until there’s nothing inside him but quiet. He wants to sink into him and disappear.
It takes Shane an entire beat to remember where they are. Fighting against the fog in his mind, he manages to drag his gaze up to meet Ilya’s.
There’s a slow-dawning horror and understanding on Ilya’s face.

I wouldn't mind that, Harry wants to say. Would you keep me forever? Would you let me stay? He doesn’t say any of these things.

written for the 2025 zourry fic fest prompt: Harry works evenings at a shop, keeping him afloat to follow his passion. He starts to notice a beautiful, soft spoken man coming in once or twice a week to pick up something last minute, things like bouquets, pints of Ben and Jerry’s, bottles of wine, and confections. Harry starts to wonder whom this stranger is treating with these little surprises, wishing it were him. Little does Harry know that he’s also caught the stranger’s attention, which is why he keeps coming back, and he thinks Harry should definitely spend some time with him and his lover.
