Summary
“Hey Azune,” Hal said when he came in. His voice had gone even softer than it was when he helped Azune calm down after a nightmare. He held the wicker carrier up to let him see inside.
Between the cushioned sides of the basket lay a tiny baby. Much smaller than Azune had ever seen before. They had skin the color of late-summer clover and thin dark hair across their head and the most perfect little ears that came to a point towards the back. They were asleep, swaddled in a blanket.
“Meet Namai Areil.”
When one of Hal's acquaintances finds herself struggling to care for her new baby, he offers to take care of the little one for a week so she can rest and recover from the birth. He's no stranger to fostering, after all.
What he wasn't expecting, but maybe should have been, was for his other current foster Azune to be so much help. And through helping care for the baby, Azune may learn some things about taking care of himself.

Okay. Thaisha may have been an early riser by nature, but that was a lot to think about first thing in the morning before she had even finished making coffee. There were a lot of implications to what Azune was asking and saying, and she had no doubt there would be a lot more if he recited those lists for her.
“Alright. Come sit down and let’s talk about this,” Thaisha invited him. Reaching under the small kitchen table with one foot, she pushed out a chair on the other side from her.

"Dead fucking gods, how had this all gone so wrong? Alogar had just convinced Azune to sneak out of the house with a bottle of Uncle Thjazi’s yhargraz, taking him out past the decrepit old amphitheater to the Tintazy woods. With Thjazi and Thimble and Thaisha all at home at the moment, on top of Elodie and Hero coming over, it was the only way they’d get some privacy. It was only supposed to be a little bit of teenage rebellion, which he thought Azune was in desperate need of, given how nervous the other boy seemed to be of doing something wrong. Alogar just wanted to get him used to the idea of not doing everything the adults said. That was healthy.
He thought that in the end Azune had only agreed to come to protect him. Thank the Land he had. They’d already been deep in the woods, and Alogar deep in his cups, when they realized Hero had followed them. And that was before they’d gotten turned around heading back, and before the twilight air started to stink of decay as the dead closed in."

At first, the feeling Azune got back as he used Lay on Hands to connect with her was more confusing than enlightening. There didn't seem to be anything wrong. No poisons, no illnesses, no lingering internal bleeding or bruising from their last fight that would cause vomiting. There was just a sense of there being something different in Murray's body.
Closing his eyes, Azune pressed deeper. The sense of something different grew and sharpened until he realized it was something separate from Murray inside of her. Not exactly a living creature, not yet, but a little bit of life with the potential to grow bigger.
“Murray. I think you might be- is it possible you're pregnant?”
Murray accidentally gets pregnant. Azune supports her as she decides what she wants to do about it.

Their pressing need for quiet in everything was the only thing that kept Murray from shouting when she saw the interior of the cell. Even Hal let out a gasp. At least the noisy breathing she’d heard made more sense now, when the lungs were several times larger than she had been expecting.
A dragon lay inside.
After Azune goes missing, the other Schemers put all their effort into tracking him down. When they find him, though, he's not in the state they're expecting.

Murray.
She had been almost asleep when she heard Azune's voice speak into her head. Well, technically, she had been just about to lie down, but she was so tired that she was convinced she'd be out like a snuffed candle the second her head hit the pillow. It had been a long day. They were all long days, these days. And it seemed like it wasn't over yet.
I’m outside. Nothing's wrong, Azune said through the Message spell. Along with being the first spell she'd invented, it was the first she'd taught him. It had turned out to be very useful. I just want to see you. Can I come up?
Murray sighed. She was going to say yes, obviously, but she hoped whatever Azune was looking for wouldn't take long, because she really was tired. She might just fall asleep on him if he stayed awhile.

“What happened?” Teor demanded.
“He’s fucking freezing,” Thjazi said. It wasn’t clear if this was in reply to Teor, or just an observation. The man was already lifting Azune up, curling him against his chest, still wrapped in his blanket. A shock of red hair was about all Teor glimpsed of him. He wasn’t moving.
“Azune won’t wake up,” Thimble explained. “I was trying to ask if he wanted to go play in the snow, but he wouldn’t wake up. I felt that he’s breathing, at least, but it was slow and wasn’t warm like it should be-”
At twelve years old and small for his age, Azune gets cold faster than the adult members of the Torn Banner. When the temperature drops with a sudden snowfall, this becomes an issue.

“Shadia!” Hal yelled as he entered. It had been a long day at the theater, and the news he’d gotten from Bolaire about the museum was not good. Finding his door cracked open at the end of the day was not what he’d been hoping to come home to. He could only hope no mice or birds or anything had gotten inside. “I don’t mind if you come by-”
His rant was cut off mid sentence as he saw that it was not his daughter that had come in and left the door ajar. And Hal thought of himself as a caring friend as well as a good dad, but he couldn’t help but be relieved. Because there were dark footprints stretching across the rug, and he didn't think it was just mud from the ever-present Dol-Makjar rain. And the dark lump of a form collapsed in front of the couch wasn’t moving.

When Azune's fears about Einfasen being onto him are borne out, he manages to make it to Hal's house before passing out. The bard arrives home just in time to keep him alive.

After being kidnapped and held for ransom by one of the city's younger and more reckless thieves guilds, Azune is injured and traumatized to the point where his friends can't rescue him without hurting him worse. Letting Bolaire put him on/putting on the mask lets Hal, Bolaire, and Murray get him out of there, but taking him off again will be a lengthier, and gentler, process.

In the Cooldown for this episode, Brennan mentions that if Azune had said to Thjazi that Thimble was supposed to place the glyph on him, rather than just someone, the execution scene would have gone very differently. This is my take on that (although it doesn't end up being very different)
Thjazi Fang still dies, but now he knows it's going to happen.
