He will not look at him. It doesn’t matter how attractive his smirk is, it doesn’t matter how strong his legs look. The way he pushes his hair out of his face with his big, sexy hands is of zero intrest for Shuto. For real. He’s not looking at all.
He just does his best, because he has something to prove. Not to Aiku, not to the world, but to himself. He desperately needs to feel less useless. So he trains harder than anyone else, earplugs on so he doesn’t give the other the impression he’s open to talk.
And sometimes he feels a couple of eyes on his nape, and he knows it’s Aiku because his body trembles like he’s some stupid schoolgirl with a crush, but he ignores it and keeps going. He’s a man, and he’s strong. He’s an ace. Not Aiku’s ace, just an ace in general.

Summary
Almost the entire team is here, at this bar that’s in the middle between dingy and overpriced and acts as their usual after-game hangout place. They’re drinking and laughing, easy-going and riding on the fact that Aiku, Niou and Fukaku won’t get carded buying shit for the rest of the team. The rest is probably dealing with their loss in a healthier way than drinking away their sorrows, but tradition is tradition, and Aiku is a responsible captain.
Still, he can’t bring himself to fully enjoy the evening. Every minute or so, his eyes flicker over his teammates. The familiar head of pink hair is missing, and that’s so unlike Sendou that it’s actually making Aiku worry.

Sendou considered the offer; there was nothing Aiku could give him that would make Sendou despise him any less, except, maybe one small, tiny, itsy-bitsy, little thing. He took a deep breath, stealing himself to say it.
“Okay— Okay, there’s maybe one thing but— But! You have to promise you’re not going to laugh.”
“Promise.”
“In exchange for me helping you pass maths, you have to teach me how to make girls notice me.”

After everything was said and done, Valarr found himself riding his horse well behind the rest of the royal party.
He didn't mind having to go slower than he was used to when he traveled only with his servants and retinue, he only minded that he was constantly having to see ser Duncan straggling behind and pretending he was embarrassed to be there at all. Valarr had not been happy, obviously, to see the man joining them on the road, least of all that his uncle had invited him to accompany them to see Aegon to the official funeral in King's Landing.
It was enough that his father had died so shamefully, it was enough that Valarr had to see the man responsible day in and day out.

But then that thought gets stored away, like his kneepads (never worn) or his Olympic medal (lightly worn). Because the front door shifts open and admits another exhausted person desperate for late-night supplies.
