“Ilya,” Hollander breathes, which—Ilya isn’t sure Hollander has ever called him by his first name. Surely he has sometime in seven years of acquaintance? But the sound of it is novel, unfamiliar.
And far from unpleasant.
Then Hollander says, “Baby,” and Ilya knows for certain that he’s never called Ilya that, because it takes the air right out of Ilya’s lungs and makes his guts twist and fuck, he would have remembered if Hollander had ever called him that. Especially in that reverent tone.
It’s nice.

Summary
Rozanov's so… professional. He's all grown up and not at all like the boy he once was. The polite smile never leaves his face even when he's looking at Shane.
"You are very lucky," Rozanov tells him, "That your concussion is only mild. Seeing me is a not so good thing, okay?"
Shane sighs through his nose, pouts. "Yeah… okay. But… I haven't seen you in a million years. Why are you a doctor now? You should be playing hockey—" He wiggles a little, grins sideways— "With me."

or, after wondering what happened to Ilya after the NHL draft, Shane discovers he's been in Montreal the whole time, and more than that, is an entire doctor instead of the hockey player he should've become.

Summary
Gentleman is the word that comes to mind. Ilya Rozanov is a gentleman at his core, which is very different from the persona he projects. He pulls the chair out for you, he opens the car door for you, he parks just to walk you in. He listens and asks questions and empathizes. And he does it all quietly, not for show, not to prove anything, he just does it.
Shane turns to face Ilya, as they slow to a stop. “You didn't have to walk with me,” he says, although he’s sure Ilya can see right through it.
“Didn’t have to, but… I wanted to,” Ilya replies in a soft tone, staring at him with such sweet fondness that it makes Shane blush for what is probably the millionth time tonight.

Luca’s being bear-hugged by Rozanov from behind, so much so that his weight is nearly entirely supported by the man, his toes barely touching the ground. Luca’s laughing, the noise resembling something more of a giggle, as Rozanov peppers kisses on the side of his neck, then ears, nipping at the skin. “Hey,” he’s grumbling, a smile evident in his voice.
And Hollander. He’s off to the side, pausing from whatever task he’s doing to watch them. There’s nothing near shock, disgust. The sheer amount of adoration in his eyes is something they’ve only seen reserved for Rozanov— and.
And LaPointe blinks, steps back so slowly he won’t make any noise, turns around, and leaves.

“Okay,” Hollander says, voice cracking.
He doesn’t say anything else. The air’s so heavy around them that it feels like being in the middle of a scrum, the weight and heat of all those bodies pressing down on you. Danger always feels like hockey; it’s the most dangerous thing Ilya knows, except for this. Everything dangerous in his life involves men’s bodies and just how close he can get to them. Closer than he probably should.
A year after mysteriously dropping out of the 2009 draft, Shane Hollander is signed by the Boston Raiders, right behind Ilya Rozanov. Having the two biggest stars in the league on the same line is great for Boston — but playing alongside their worst rival was never exactly in Shane or Ilya's plans. Especially not when staying away from each other starts to feel just as impossible as getting along.
