He staggered through the burning woods, desperate for shelter, for water, for air, along the only path the fire permitted him, a rock ledge that overlooked the river, stained brown from all the blood, all the carnage of the battle that still raged in the valley below. A fog of black, sooty smoke loomed in between the trees, but thinned out on the ledge. He cradled his mangled arm as he lurched forward, forward on a pair of swollen ankles, shackle-scarred legs, desperate for escape from he knew not what.

This was fantastic, I don’t think I’ve ever kept track of chapters so well. I really didn’t want it to end. It was perfect. Ugh, I loved everyone and I think Jas was perfect and I wish I could read it again for the first time
