    He stood out on the balcony under the moonlight and recited the words he had practiced in his head over and over, channeling all of his concentration into them just like Mummy had taught him. Jamie gasped as the petals rose from the bowl, swirling out into the night on an invisible breeze. They went up, up, until they blended in amongst the spray of stars in the sky.

    Jamie stood there in the cool dark, and knew it had been done. The person he described didn’t exist. They wouldn’t ever exist. And if they didn’t exist, nobody would ever be able to break his heart.

    The living Danny—maybe playing along, or maybe responding genuinely—raised both hands in a show of harmlessness. Like Lancer truly had him at gunpoint.

    Danny Fenton’s wet cold dead body was so heavy in Lancer’s single cradling arm.

    “Who are you?” Lancer asked very simply.

    And Danny, arms still raised high, let out a sigh deep enough to deflate his shoulders. Whatever light was in his eyes went dull, resigned to an acceptance Lancer could not in the moment understand.

    “I am your worst student,” Danny answered. And he lowered one arm exclusively to point. “And THAT is the dead body of my ghost clone.”

    Alone on the farthest outskirts of Amity Park, Danny Fenton and Edward Lancer bury the dead body of Danny's clone. It is long and tedious work, and Danny can't dodge Lancer's questions forever. Surely it's only fair of Lancer to demand to know what he has been pulled into. Surely Danny could use someone on his side, now that his evenings are spent burying his clones.

    A Trine's Purpose by

    There are reasons why Seekers Trine up in the first place.

    The main one is that a seeker's wing are vitally important to their survival, need intense maintenance, and can't be effectively worked on by their own bearer. Especially on the backside.

     

    Starscream might have been able to fool his own Trine as he slowly drifted away from them.
    And he might have managed to keep his wings and back in good shape while doing that through his inventively.

    But when a rust-inviting wear develops in his wing hinges, other Seekers noticed.

    That was only the start, though.

     

    OR:
    Seekers Trine for many, many reasons.

    And Starscream might have decided that he was above it all, but he really, really isn't.

    And Skywarp and Thundercracker need to remind Starscream (and themselves) what these reasons are.
