Summary
What if Loki was, in actuality, a Shakespearian tragedy and we pulled him out of that genre and into hurt/comfort instead. Also an actually powerful sorcerer who fixes shit. (Like that's what every myth about Loki includes, him fixing some problem that only half the time is his fault)
What if Marvel wasn't a fucking coward and made Steve and Bucky gay for each other, like seriously the thing that snaps Bucky out of brainwashing is a literal promise to stay by each other's side for life. If that's not soulmates I don't know what is.

Steve's had an interesting time adjusting to the 21st century, but it's been a bit easier since the Invasion of New York. If it was good for one thing, it was that it introduced him to Natasha Romanoff, his best friend (whom he sorta-kinda made out with on a mall escalator and whom he would very much like to do that again with).
Needless to say, Loki and Steve don't exactly click.

His body is still seizing but he’s laughing silently, a dreadful clicking noise coming from the back of his throat even as blood trickles down his chin. “You would— call this— brother?”
----Loki, gravely injured, turns blue after being pummeled by the Hulk. Unfortunately, Odin has neglected to tell Thor the truth behind Loki's birth. This causes more problems than you'd think.

However – weak from months in Asgard's dungeon after his near-death on Svartalfheim and Thanos' ministrations – Loki is stolen from Asgard's dungeons by Thor. As the only known wielder of two Infinity Stones, the Avengers hope to use Loki to uncover the reason behind their appearance on Earth. Especially in light of the Mind Stone taken form as their newest ally: the Vision.
But they are not the only ones who have use of a bound child mage.

Much to Loki's shock, Odin calls Loki's bluff, but before the execution can be carried out, the TVA intervenes. Loki is ultimately pruned and left face to face with Alioth, ready to accept death once more when two very familiar Midgardians save him.

He watched as the flames consumed his home, reducing everything he cherished to ashes, while the Grandmaster’s ship crumbled into oblivion.
He begged the Norns for a second chance as he clung onto his once-again-brother’s cold dead body, his cries for mercy swallowed by the inferno.
He wished, and when he opened his eyes back in his room in his long-destroyed home-land, six months after Loki’s fall into the void; he knew he had to change everything. He was given a second chance, and he wouldn’t live to regret it this time.

After all, fate didn't plan for Loki to find an abandoned baby elf. Nor did Loki plan to discover how intriguing Jane Foster can be. And what the heck do the Avengers and his trickster of a daughter have to do with any of this?
Loki makes a different choice. But can Loki truly escape the fate that has been his since the beginning? Can the trickster learn to love?
