Kokichi starts to prance around him, sighing dramatically, “Poor Shumai has never been kissed!”
“Would you cut that out?” Shuichi waves a half-hearted hand at him, “And lower your voice!”
Kokichi stops in front of him, clasping his hands together under his chin, “Well I’m sure you can figure out why it’s supposed to be sooooo magical, riiiiight Mr. Detective?”
“I just don’t see what the big deal is,” Shuichi tries again weakly.
Kokichi peeks over his shoulder, head tilted curiously. Shuichi is a little terrified by the glint in his eyes.
“Ah,” he says quietly, “Does Shumai need a demonstration?”

Shuichi Saihara was a shy, nervous but very perceptive and smart individual when Kiibo met him at the beginning of the semester.
However, In the past few days, the nervous but still friendly detective had a drastic personality change… and no one seemed to notice it. He talked much less and avoided staying close to anyone as much as he could.
Perhaps it was an error, but he also looked pale. Was he sick? Would it be rude to check on him? Should he tell anyone? At first, Kiibo didn’t intervene, sincerely hoping it was nothing but a cold.
He changed his mind the day the bell rang, and the seat usually occupied by the detective was found empty.

It's been about a year since the thirteen of them woke from the living hell that was the Killing Game. Ever since, they've been living together in a strange new world where their old memories (regardless if they are real or fake) are next to meaningless.
Kokichi still feels the effects of the game a year later; although, that's likely only because of himself for not being able to get past his guilt. Still, he hopes to be able to, one day, feel like he has earned his place among the others and maybe even feel like he can belong.

“Well…” Shuichi broke the comfortable silence, staring down, looking deep in thought. “I'd personally like to be a little more… Original.” He admitted, now looking straight ahead, not really focusing his gaze on something specific. Although he did have a conflicted expression in his face, almost appearing frustrated. “Spontaneous, exciting, intriguing…” After a moment Shuichi stayed in silence, looking conflicted. But a few seconds later his expression softened, now directing his eyes to Kokichi, giving him a small, kind smile. “Like you.”
Maybe it was the fact that he was tipsy what made Shuichi so confidently honest at that moment. Even so Kokichi couldn’t help but feel his heart skipping a beat once he heard him. However, no matter how intoxicated the supreme leader was, he couldn’t let himself be completely truthful, not even- No, especially not with the detective. The fact that he knew he was falling in love with him a little bit more every day terrified him.He would usually fake it, putting on a mask and never showing his true feelings.
But why did the alcohol have to make it so damn hard to lie?

In the picture, his hair is slicked back, revealing his glorious forehead, his hand on his tie as if he was adjusting it, and he’s looking straight into the camera with a small smile on his face.
