Tomorrow, Goro Akechi is going to enter another world with seven acquaintances and one Akira Kurusu, and betray them all. It'll make the first and final defeat for his one and only rival. He's been planning this for months, and it ends tomorrow night. He's been planning for his father's election for years, and it ends a month from now. So many endings, so soon, if only his well-rehearsed plans go off without a hitch.
It's just gone past eleven, and there's a knock on his apartment door.

Summary
"Our plan was to use Sae's palace," Akira says. "We'd pull you into the Metaverse and let you kill her cognition of me in the interrogation room."
Was. It's useless now that Akechi knows, but Akira smiles as he speaks. He's cornered himself, mate in one, but it won't be the first time he's died. At worst he'll restart his probation again, back in April.
At best, they'll move to step two of his real plan, tearing apart Shido's conspiracy one crooked heart at a time until Akechi is as free as his past allows and resoundingly not dead. It'd be easy to resent the world for demanding Akira save it, but at least it's had the decency to let him save his friends along the way. All of them, even the one who only makes the job harder.

Summary
Goro opens his mouth. He wants to object, he wants to make fun of Ren for that ridiculous pet name, he wants to resist. At least a little. Just to prove that he can. But Ren carefully puts a warm hand on his back and bends down. Slowly, he slides a hand under Goro’s knees and scoops him up from the ground and into his arms.
“Come here.”
