Summary
“Do you think you could parent an 8 year old right now?”
Stephanie makes a face. “Why? You got one you’re trying to pawn off?”
He smiles. “No, I just…I’ve been thinking lately and… Bruce was 22, when he took me in.”
“Oh, damn,” she says. “That’s like…that’s like if Tim was Batman. Alone. And there was just…a kid running around.”
“A kid gymnast.”
“My god, that’s dark. Can you imagine? I’m pretty sure Tim would have just given you a gun and called it a day.”
OR
At the end of the day, the only thing Dick really wants is to know that all of his siblings are okay. When Jason won’t talk to him, he doesn’t know how to do that.

Summary
Stephanie gives Jason a grateful look before frowning. “I had a fight with Tim. And then I had a fight with you. And then I had another fight with Tim. And now…I can’t talk to either of you, now, and we fucked that Two Face attack so badly, and now Bruce is gone, and Tim is spiraling out, and you’re holing up here, and… I don’t know, man, I’m just pretty sure I did this.”
He looks at her. Don’t get involved. He leans forward. “Stephanie. Listen to me. Do not ever—EVER—blame yourself when Tim is right there, okay? Here’s a life hack, if you blame anything—anything at all—on Tim, there’s a 99% chance you’re right, okay? I just… God, what’s the point of having Tim around if we can’t blame him for all of our shit?”
OR
In the aftermath of a hard revelation, Bruce disappears and Jason decides to stop leaving his safe house. The other Bats, though, still have some questions.

Here is what Bruce wants to say, when he realizes his son is alive and his son hates him: I remember who you were when I met you. I remember what you looked like. I remember the way your voice cracked. I remember the way you acted so brave, even when you were terrified, and I remember looking at you with a tire iron still in your hands and a bruise under your eye and knowing I’d never rest until I knew you were safe.
Here’s what Bruce wants to say: I haven’t rested yet.
OR

Summary
On the fourth day, it becomes clear that Joe is organizing something—more muscle than usual, a few more Black Mask affiliates than there should be. The few glimpses of Joe that Dick gets, he’s on his phone, speaking rapidly and gesturing emphatically.
On the fifth day, everything is quiet. No one comes, no one goes.
On the sixth day, Tim calls Dick: they’re not sure where Jason is. And yeah, maybe that’s just normal, and they’re not panicking yet. But they’re not sure where he is. And they’re about to start looking.
And on the seventh day, Bruce shows up at his door with Jason standing next to him, pale and hacking out a cough, putting too much weight on Bruce’s shoulder, and says: “I need to ask you a favor.”
OR
Dick is supposed to be on a boring stakeout assignment. Jason complicates that.

“I’LL TAKE CARE OF YOU.” “IT’S ROTTEN WORK.” “NOT TO ME. NOT IF IT’S YOU.”

Summary
Somewhere in the garage, Jason squeaks to a stop again, but this time, there’s no shouted exclamations, and the footsteps don’t start again. Dick furrows his brow. It sounds like he stopped near the Japanese cars, and Dick can’t even remember what’s over there. He picks up his pace from where he had been meandering through the garage and beelines to where he thinks Jason is, the sudden silence unnerving him. God, what if something’s wrong, what if—
Jason is standing, arms frozen at his sides, breath shallow, jaw clenched tight, eyes the size of dinner plates. When Dick sees what he’s staring at, he can’t help the smirk. Jason turns his whole head to look at Dick and says, in a near whisper: “is that a Supra?”
“Yeah,” says Dick, “that’s the Supra.”
OR
Bruce requests that Dick try to bond with Jason before the adoption and leaves zero instructions on how to do that. Dick improvises.
