Summary
The doctor softens his voice. He rarely does this. And never for a child. But as his mentor once said, every adjustment is necessary in pursuit of a perfect experiment.
“I don’t think this is bad,” he hums. “I believe it to be a rather, charming hobby.”
The effect is immediate.
Quinn’s face brightens so suddenly that it is almost startling. Sunlight blooming bright through stormy skies.
“There’s nothing to be ashamed of,” the doctor continues, unperturbed. “You’re simply playing with toys the way they were meant to be played with.”
The boy brushes hair from his eyes and, shyly, places a hand atop the doctor’s.
Hook, line, and sinker.
“You’re an okay doctor,”
He grins. “You think so?”
OR: An interpretation of a softer ending for the one and only cold hearted megalomaniac Doctor Harley Sawyer and his agonisingly oblivious boy.

Summary
To call something useless is to insinuate it held use to begin with.
That is the problem with Quinn Navidson. The other scientist don’t see Harley’s vision for the boy like he does. A true pity, if he must admit. Call it sentimentality, call it whatever you wish, it doesn’t matter, frankly. It is what Harley sees, anything else is of little importance. Sure, the boy may be as dim-witted as a dog, but that is irrelevant when it comes to his..feral disposition. Nonetheless, the boy is his to do with as he pleases. And once something is Sawyers, it’s his for good.
Or
Harley Sawyer has grown attached to Quinn Navidson, seeing the boy as his own. As such, he only needs Harley—no one else. Who needs anyone else when he has the doctor? It matters not what Quinn wants—Harley knows what’s best for him.

Summary
In this AU, just after our escape from Lily Lovebraids, you re-group with Giblet, Poppy, and Kissy. Staring at Poppy's cracked face, something in you snaps. No one will find happiness down here of any kind should things continue as they are. And if what Giblet says is true about the poppy gel, crashing a train into The Prototype won't do anything but waste time and effort. So, you pitch a new plan—one that, while risky, you do believe could work.

Summary
Just barely having evaded the Hour of Joy, you, an employee of Playtime Co, return to the factory to retrieve your life's work and to find out the fate of a certain co-worker. Seeing the carnage around the facility, you were almost certain he'd be among the bodies—but you encounter him after an arduous journey deeper into the factory. The injuries you've sustained make you ache, and Sawyer is more than eager to serve justice to someone he thinks betrayed him.

So basically: Player isn't a great person, but they are a yapper, a surgeon, and higher ranking than Sawyer. Their relationship is somewhat complicated and they try to navigate that, despite their inexperience and Harley's current circumstances.Bookmarked by MisterClean
