Summary
When the Earth was scorched by heat and torn apart by extreme storms, Atropos, intended to be a halfway house between the destruction of the planet and new beginnings on the colonies of Mars, became the only city left. Atropos’ population is reliant on the NeuroChip, humanity’s greatest invention since the internet; a brain chip installed at birth that’s designed to regulate health, record personal data and memories, and even connect to electronic devices to use at will. It has improved the population’s intellect and life expectancy, becoming the foundation of the city’s economy and lifestyle - the next step in humanity’s evolution.
Jyn Mara, a rookie detective, is unexpectedly tasked to investigate one of the greatest national security threats that humanity has ever known with veteran detective Levi Ackerman. A computer virus capable of infecting the NeuroChip is spreading quickly. The clock is ticking, but the further she digs, the more baffling and perilous the investigation becomes. Jyn finds herself entangled in an intricate web of lies, and starts to question everything and everyone, including her new partner.

Everything had been going far too well, so it only makes sense that when you’re reaching record breaking distances beyond Wall Rose that it all goes to shit. Could you blame them really? Leaving you behind? Assessing the sharp point of your femur poking through your thigh you decide, yeah, you could blame them a little. The question now is how you’re going to get back to blame them in person. Or rather, how you’re going to survive long enough to try.
