Just before Turgon and his ten thousand spears ride out to the battle that would have otherwise been the Nirnaeth Arnoediad, the Battle of Unnumbered Tears, Maeglin Lomion wakes with memories of another life – a life in which he was called Harry Potter and, though his parents were just as dead, he had some friends to give him good advice. This changes things.

Summary
Bilbo picks up an Elvish dagger in the troll-hoard, and it speaks to him. The elf-ghost inside is mysterious, but he turns out to be decent company, for all that, and he's certainly Bilbo's equal in making petty comments about everyone and everything.
AKA the fic where Maeglin has been trapped in Sting since his death, and gets really attached (as all elves tend to) to hobbits.

Summary
Let it not be said that Maeglin Lómion doesn't know how relationships worked. He does. He just took a while to figure out they work differently in different places, that's all.
Maeglin gets captured and dragged before Sauron, and interprets this as a proposal of marriage. Sauron isn't exactly opposed.
