One moment there was silence, and the next — screams. Not the kind he'd been hearing all day: not laughter, not songs, not idle chatter. No, this was terror. With distant clarity, Satoru realized he could feel hot blood pouring down the collar of his winter coat. His own blood.
There was no anger on his face anymore, no worry. No. Only pure, naked horror. His mouth hung open in disbelief, brown eyes wide, face pale. And it gave Gojo that same sense of déjà vu again, dragging him back to that same mission, that same moment when Toji Fushiguro pierced his body with his blade.
At the similarity, Gojo tried to smile, but felt blood fill his mouth and only coughed weakly instead.

Summary
Satoru’s eyes were glued to the last thirty seconds slipping away mercilessly before him. He felt heat flash through him, then cold, and he was more than certain that his makeup hadn’t survived the assault of his nerves, sweat, and the August evening sun. He felt his favorite shirt unpleasantly sticking to his skin, and he could only imagine how big a damp patch would be left on his back. In his current state he didn’t even need the glitter he’d applied on Utahime’s advice — his skin was shining perfectly well on its own, covered in a thin sheen of sweat.
The same question that had lodged itself in his head ever since he logically followed the steps to his fateful conclusion still echoed in his ears: was he really going to do this? was he really going to do this? was he really going to do this?
But when only 10 seconds remained on the timer, and Minato next to him still hadn't made a move, something else appeared nearby — a shy new thought, one he didn’t dare give too much hope: was I finally going to be free?

Summary
So Suguru’s moving to kiss him— big deal. His breath smells like alcohol, and Satoru should find it gross but he doesn’t. Suguru turns his chin just slowly enough for Satoru to change his mind, but all Satoru does it comply, letting Suguru’s hand guide him towards him with mischief in his eyes and a small smile, and it’s just not a big deal, they’re just fucking around: Satoru feels fully confident about the lightheartedness of this moment right up until the very second Suguru slots their lips together.

Or: One kiss is all it takes to make the dam crumble, to make Satoru ache for things he doesn't understand. All he craves is to keep taking pleasure from Suguru, and he can't seem to put together why Suguru's indulging him.

Summary
He watches, almost in slow motion, as the stupid, most haunting pair of amber eyes look behind Shoko, focusing on him.
The worst part is how Satoru tracks every minuscule crinkle of his eye. How he watches recognition fill his gaze, watches the muscles in his brows relax as his gaze softens. Watches for signs, tells, that he’d recognize, and horribly, finds them.
Watches, maybe in horror, a soft smile come across the features that he still sometimes sees when he’s been staring at the backs of his eyelids for too long.
“This is my friend from uni,-“ Shoko, oblivious, starts, and Suguru interrupts her.
“Satoru.”

“…I don’t think I should let you back into my life.” Satoru mumbles, a little sleepier, after some time.
“…I understand.” Suguru whispers, not letting go, as if he’s savoring every second Satoru is going to let him have like this.
“I think I will anyway.” Satoru whispers back.

Summary
After eight years of being in love, Satoru and Suguru were finally able to celebrate their first together.
All the gives and takes. The shared responsibility of just showing up, even if some days were ten percent. Doing what they could to make the others life a little bit easier.
Although it wasn’t perfect by any means, and Suguru was convinced it probably wouldn’t ever be, it was working. He was just happy to be able to see Satoru nearly every day, to see his boyfriend, and the thought of that suddenly disappearing had started to fade.
And all Satoru ever wanted was to see him happy. So, he’d try.
