“Oh? That’s a weird question to ask. But I would like it to be shorter. Maybe a little longer than yours but shorter, yeah.” I tell him.
“Oh, your hair seems pretty long. Why haven’t you cut it yet you want it short?” He asked.
“Ah, it’s because my mother likes it long. I don’t want her to be disappointed if I cut it.” I don’t know why I’m even saying stuff to this guy I just met.
“Well, I would say you should just cut it. It’s your hair, not your mother’s. If she’s disappointed so what! If your mother is upset about it then she doesn’t deserve you. I personally think you would look great with short hair!” He tells me.

Summary
Romano comes to America with nothing but his pride, his anger, and one marketable skill: Cooking.
Years later, the food remains—too much, too rich, not authentic—but filling in all the ways that matter.
Food history liberties were taken lovingly—I did my homework, but tweaked some details for storytelling, so please don’t roast me if it’s not 100% historically perfect.
(Basically expanding Romano’s immigrant experience in America, with lots of my own headcanons.)

Neither one of them is thrilled with this, but try and not fight the best they can. Even though they clash on just about everything they can’t help but both agree that they can’t wait for the thirty days to end.

He’d been sick before—it’d been a while, maybe once or twice since the Celestial Realm, but he’d dealt with the fever and runny nose and multitude of annoying symptoms. Although, the small, infrequent colds were incomparable to the pain in his chest, in his lungs, in his throat as he gagged into the toilet—dry-heaving short breaths that made him feel like there was a noose tightening around his neck. When, Mammon opened his eyes, it took a few unsteady heartbeats for him to register the colorful, bloody flower petals floating beneath him.

After an explosive argument with Lucifer, the avatar of Pride, the second-born wakes the next morning with what he assumes to be a simple chest-cold. A chest cold that lasts as days turn to weeks to months - worrying everyone around him, though he can't see it. A chest cold wouldn't last this long. Wouldn't wrap a garden of his brothers' favorite flowers around his lungs. Wouldn't be bringing him to a foot inside of his own grave. Wouldn't reaffirm the reality that Mammon is unlovable.
