Summary
Hours into the mating run, and nearing dawn, Buck has finally given up the feeble hope of being chased down by an Alpha and taken on the forest floor, so he begins his humiliating return to the beginning of the trail to check himself out, eat all the ice cream he has in his freezer, and maybe cry into a few beers.

“I thought you might be an alpha,” Eddie says. His eyes rove over Buck’s face, but Buck only gives an agreeable shrug. Again, he’s used to it. “It’s not, ah, a problem. I’ve just- I’ve never been with a guy before. Or an omega.”

It’s how he learns how to turn the big day from great into something magical. He sips his coffee, leaving his notepad in his bag for now. He wants this to be as natural as possible, and he can jot down his notes later.
Ana, the bride-to-be, smiles brightly, linking her fiancé’s hand with her own. “We met about three years ago. I was his son’s teacher.”
“She’s amazing with him,” the fiancé, Eddie, cuts in. He’s incredibly handsome, with his brown eyes and long lashes, perfect smile, and hair combed to the side. They make a beautiful couple.
