When a twelve year old child is brought into the Pitt beaten within an inch of her life, it becomes a desperate attempt to locate the parents of the child, only to learn from the child that he’s in fact a trans child who goes by Dennis, they learn that his parents sent him to a conversion camp because of his “condition” and that he’s no longer welcome in their home nor do they care what happens to the child anymore. Jack and Michael decide to foster then adopt the boy.

For a basic understanding, Robby is 26 and an MS4, Jack is 24 and an MS3, and Dennis is 20 and an MS3. Dennis is a trans male in this.

Summary
So as I was writing Beautiful Boy I realized two things, one I didn't really want to write a giant chapter story, and two I had all these other smaller one or two shot ideas that I wanted to write instead based in this Universe. Jack’s frozen like a buck in front of an oncoming pair of LEDs. It’s like he’s in a trance, hypnotized by the way the yellow overhead light is shining along the dips and hollows of Robby’s biceps. Jack watches his Adam’s apple bob as he swallows. Traces the line of his throat to the gold chain and star of David tangling in the wet mat of chest hair.
He knew Robby was a thicker guy. He’s built like a fucking barrel and he’s been tossing patients around on stretchers for longer than Jack has. He just never pictured…this.
This is what Michael Robinavitch looks like in the privacy of his own bedroom. It’s—intense and weird and the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to Jack, which is saying something because he’s lived through a fucking lot.

Summary
The conference itself would’ve been bad enough on its own. Three days in Virginia Beach with physicians from across the East Coast attending lectures and networking events and social hours that nobody actually wanted to participate in. But no, PTMC had also agreed to some commemorative panel recognizing the one-year anniversary of Pittfest.
Meaning Robby somehow ended up scheduled the next day to accept a departmental honor recognizing “exceptional leadership and emergency response coordination during mass casualty management.” There would apparently also be a plaque. A shiny new plaque to hang in the ED. Because nothing helped process collective trauma like polished wood and engraved brass.
Or, Robby is selected to sit on a conference panel commemorating Pittfest and accept an award on behalf of PTMC. (Inspired by the photo of Noah Wyle looking *lovingly* at a picture of Gerran/Dennis)
