“Oh, just, studying in the library” He lied, again. He hated it, he hated it all, the lies he told to her, how she cried, the wounds she saw, how she’d work far into the night after coming home from a long day at work to make sure his uniform was dry or stitched back up so he could at least go to school the next day.
