Stiles is Derek's safe place while mourning his family.

Stiles was in bed, yes, but not asleep. He was wide awake and slowly running a hand down the back of the person curled up in his arms. His cheek was resting lightly on the back of the person’s head, his face set in a sad frown.
As soon as the Sheriff identified the other person as Derek Hale, all the other pieces fell into place in his head and he felt a pang of sympathy for the young man. The way his body was curled into his son’s, his head buried in Stiles’ chest, his visible hand grasping Stiles’ shirt in a white-knuckled grip, all spoke of someone in the throes of grief, deeply in need of the comfort of another person. The Sheriff knew that anniversaries were often the hardest days to get through.

Stiles stumbled to his bed, but didn’t quite make it before his knees buckled and he fell to the floor. He stayed there, not quite sprawled out, but curled in on himself, arms crossed over his chest as he shook. He could do nothing but lay there, his father’s accusations all he could think about. He had finally done it, he had finally driven away the only person he had left. He had no one left, he was alone.

Stiles has been acting strange--well, strange even for him--and the Sheriff wants to know why. Little did he know when he forced this confrontation he would end up feeling like all the air had been punched out of his lungs. How long had Stiles been feeling like this? How could he not have noticed?

“You’re too good, Hanguang-jun,” Wei Wuxian sighs. “You’ll make a wonderful father someday.”
“I will have learnt from the best,” he nods at Wei Wuxian. The man’s cheeks fill with colour so pretty, Lan Wangji has to turn away entirely in order to breathe again.

I don't know why I didn't bookmark this the first time, it's so, so good. I love everything about it. Kids usually aren't my most favorite thing in stories, but I love all of these little guys, and Lan Zhan's journey to love them, too.

The window slid open with ease and Wei Ying climbed out into the tree. He would get settled somewhere and then write to Lan Zhan. They could exchange letters, until Wei Ying managed to afford a phone so they could talk. Maybe Lan Zhan could visit him.
Wei Ying stole away into the night, not then aware of what else he was taking away with him. He wouldn’t know for another four months the gift Lan Zhan had given him, growing inside him. He also didn’t know that he would never get any replies back from his letters to Lan Zhan.
Thirteen years after Wei Ying received no response to his letters about their son, he meets Lan Zhan again.
