Summary
Hunched over for the face off while avoiding the shameless eye contact, the Canadian Hockey star tries to not let his expression give away the fact his heart is racing at the proximity of the Boston Captain, memories of their last heated encounter plaguing his thoughts. Given the growing smirk on his opponent's face from the corner of his eye, he must be failing miserably for the other to have some suspicions, despite the already forming denials coating his tongue.
He can try to lie to Rozonov, try to downplay his poor poker face that the Russian may or may not buy. If luck were on his side, he might even have a good shot to make it out of this game with a win and at least some of his dignity intact.
But such wagers mean little when one person, miles away, knows exactly what his heart is doing right now.
Shane Hollander and Kip Grady have carried a secret that pulls them intensely together while fearfully shying away from anyone who gets too close to learn the truth....or to come between.
